The position of Transfer Scientist I is within our Infectious Disease Developed Marketsbusiness unit located at Scarborough, Maine. In this role you will execute the development and transfer work incollaboration with others for projects. Work within the department to transfernew products from R&D.

This job descriptionwill be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management. RESPONSIBILITIES: Worksas a member of a team on product transfers as well as on independentdevelopment and improvement projects. Workswithin the established Design Control process to transfer new product fromR&D into Operations. Correlateswork and comprehends the relation of the problem to a larger one. Provides suggestions related to assignedproblem. Workon the development of tests for existing platforms. Writesreports even though editing may be required. Undertakesnew procedures, observing proper safety precautions. Worksin a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, chemists, and Operationspersonnel. Investigatesproblem areas and areas of desirable product improvement. Meetsand responds to customer requirements. Liaiseswith suppliers of raw materials. Decideson and implements experimental procedures. Conductstest protocols, procedures, and product evaluations. Transfersnew technologies and products to Operations. Documentsdevelopment work, writing technical reports and cost estimates. Providesproduct claim substantiation to ensure efficacy and safety of new and existingproducts.
Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION: BSin a science related field orequivalent combination of education and experience. Minimumof 1+ years experience in a research and development, operations, and/orprocess engineering role. Broad knowledge of the technical aspects ofimmunodiagnostics. Understanding of the procedures, processes,records, software systems and infrastructure of the Operations department. Understanding of the internal Regulatoryrequirements of bringing new products to market. Ability to work with mathematical concepts suchas probability and statistical inference.
